1861, 12¢ black, tied by neat cog wheel handstamp with matching "San Francisco, Cal., May 13, 1863" double circle at right on Patriotic cover from Hawaii, postmarked red "Honolulu, U.S. Postage Paid, Apr 18" cds on cover to New York with red, white and blue Eagle & Flag patriotic design with "Forever wave that standard free - Bear it aloft o'er land and sea!" verse below, Extremely Fine.

A WONDERFUL AND RARE CIVIL WAR PATRIOTIC COVER SENT FROM HONOLULU DURING THE END OF THE THIRD TREATY PERIOD.

Sent aboard the American bark "Comet" departing Honolulu on April 18th, 1863 and arriving in San Francisco on May 12th with mail bound for the east coast postmarked the next day.
