Leavitt Machine, "Buffalo, N.Y., Aug 6, 10 PM", type B-BUF (D) transposed dies canceling on 1¢ Jefferson postal card (UX9) with pre-printed notice on reverse, to Caledonia, N.Y., Very Fine, very rare with only three examples recorded, ex-Patkin & Fowke. Estimate $400 - 600.
It is believed that in an attempt to correct an inking problem, the clerk transposed the dial and canceller dies for at least two days - August 6th & 7th of 1891.
