Leavitt Machine, "Boston, Mass. Jan 10", Type X2B, neat strike ties 1¢ gray blue (206) on 1882 illustrated A.H. Roffe & Co's Subscription Agency corner card cover to Snowville Va., Very Fine, Only Two Recorded Examples (the other being a cover front).. Estimate $300 - 400.
Ten days into 1882, the '82 year slug had not been received and the old slug was inverted. Ten days later, the new slug was in place. The second recorded example was a cover front offered in Rumsey sale 52 lot 1394.
