Dec 5, 81", Type X1A, bold strike ties 1¢ blue (182) on unsealed Brown Chemical Co. adverting cover with address label at the third-class rate to Rochester N.H.; 1¢ some toned perfs, cover stain at left, an Extremely Fine strike of this rare experimental Leavitt machine. Estimate $500 - 750.
The downward tilt of the canceller suggest that that the Baltimore machine was later used in Boston (see the X1B Boston use).
