1852 Whaling Letter to New Bedford, Mass., incoming folded letter from whaling ship captain Thomas Wall of the whaler Heroine while approaching Cape Horn, sent to his wife (via sister Mary Bailey) in New Bedford, Mass., with interesting letter providing two and a half months of discussion of ship's travel history, letter transferred to another ship and entered the mails with "San Francisco, Cal., Jun 1" cds and "12" rate (10¢ due rate plus 2¢ ship fee), Very Fine.
