Canada, 1801 River Ouelle to Greenock, Scotland, folded letter sent by Liveright Piuze datelined "River Ouelle, Oct. 23, 1801", entered the mails with bold "Ship Letter, Quebec" crown oval handstamp, with manuscript "per Juno" ship endorsement at lower left, carried to Scotland and struck with similar "Ship Letter, Greenock" crown oval handstamp in red, manuscript "4" rated upon arrival; trivial small tear at top center, Very Fine and choice, a wonderful early transatlantic usage bearing matching crown oval handstamp on letter sent during the Napoleonic Wars, ex-Steinhart.
Estimate    $2,000 - 3,000.

The sender, Liveright Piuze (1754-1813), served as a surgeon in the American Revolutionary War.
