Spanish Cuba, Collection, 1855-1890's, very fine collection in 2 specialized fancy Edifil binders; collection was formed with the balance of the great Edward Goldsmith collection of classic Cuba sold in 2000, all items are carefully mounted, it contains 26 Stampless covers (Puerto Principe, San Juan de los Remedios, Matanzas, Fernardina de Jagua, St Spiritu, Esperanza, Isla de Barlovento, Habana and several transatlantic covers. It has 750+ early stamps in excellent condition some with rare cancels, and 60+ covers selected for condition and beauty, 12 stamps that look like early proofs, there are many large blocks of the earlier stamps, Scott Nos. 69 on cover to Schonbach, Germany, 27 advertising covers 1890- 1930's, also a piece with two five cents American occupation stamps, three postal cards and 3 unused blocks of 4 of early Spanish period stamps, 1866 Block of 8 of the 40c rose canceled with a manuscript cancel, probably from a fiscal receipt, 1870's eight beautiful blocks of 4 with great cancels, Edifil #Telegraphs 47, 48, 56 and Cuba 54, 49, 103, 100, 127, some cancels are fiscal, and 1873 King Amadeo 15 proofs and essays, also a King proof; inspection highly recommended.
