Mexico, Hidalgo Medallions Issue Collection, 1884-95, mounted on exhibit pages from the best of the late Joe Bard's fantastic collection, all items were part of a gold-medal Grand Award exhibit, includes 37 stamps + 36 extraordinary covers, off-cover stamps are almost all unused and in choice condition comprising all basic stamps listed in Scott (Sc $3,120) including 8 stamps of the rare black shade, 5p and 10p blue are unused and used with choice centering, 1c error of color with MEPSI cert., only stamps not here are the 5p and 10p blue green, 36 covers with some highlights includes 1884 Green issue: 1c solo usage circular rate to Germany, rare 12c rate to Italy, 2c on a multicolored judiciary wrapper with 9 stamps; 3c probably unique solo use (treaty rate) cover, 6c solo usage + nice official cover with two black shade stamps, 12c solo usage to France + very scarce registered 18c to Halifax, 20c scarce bisect (Sc $300), 25c registered perf-in colorful cover from Mazatlan very early registered to Germany with the rare early R label, 50c two striking covers one in a solo official use (all 50c on cover are rare), 1885 Colored issue with 2c carmine unique 5-stamp combination 3c orange brown two solo uses showing the government discounted rate, one with a spectacular eagle cachet and the very rare 5c payment of AR service on a registered return receipt form, 4c red orange two bicolor covers, 5c blue unique return with the AR service paid on back, 6c dark brown striking block of four of 10c and a single on a registered judicial front, 10c orange an early pretty advertising cover + a registered R blue label cover, 12c olive brown two solo usages, 25c greenish blue unique solo use on official cover + a striking registered cover in combination with 10c ledger lines Numeral, $1 Peso blue magnificent and unique solo usage on registered cover to Denmark, also a Porfirio Diaz free-franking cover with his gold and silver letters monogram and a scarce registered official front.
