Mexico, 1887, Numeral on blue lined paper, 2c brown carmine, perf 12, strip of five and block of 19, blue Colima Provisional overprints, on cover from Colima to Copenhagen, Denmark, ledger lines issue was in place temporarily as regular paper stock run out, few are known on cover and this one contains the largest multiple known; one stamp missing from the reverse, cover opened at sides for display with some edge nicks, F.-V.F., the Colima postmaster used a private surcharge to reduce the value of these rare stamps to 1c, he sold the stamps at a premium, although these were not legal, some covers exist genuinely circulated in the mails, this cover is unique (Sc $1,140 as singles without the surcharge), ex-Jay Bard.
