THE ONLY RECORDED USAGE OF THE 10¢ 1885 SPECIAL DELIVERY ISSUE ON A POSTAL CARD WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF USE.

Special Delivery was generally used by the public to expedite letters and time sensitive material or goods. The service was seldom used for cards or letter sheets and when used were quickly discarded. This accounts for the general scarcity of these items.
