Official Seal - Typeset, black, affixed over right edge of 1916 cover to reseal after being reduced from opening in error, bearing two 1¢ green (397) singles tied by "San Jose, Cal. Dec 13 1916" waving flag machine cancellation, addressed to Plymouth Cal.; seal torn and reduced from opening, Very Fine, the only recorded on-cover use; with 2000 P.F. certificate. Scott Nos. The cloister black typeface used for the first line of text is from American Type Founders. It was introduced in 1906. The typeface used for the second line was first available from the Keystone Foundry in 1913 and consistent with this use.
