1958, 4¢ Lincoln, horizontal coil, imperf, wide-margined single tied by Fort Worth, Tex. machine cancel, Sep 6, 1962, on a pre-printed return envelope to Fort Worth National Bank, Very Fine, a very rare commercial use of the previously-undiscovered error. Scott Nos. 1058a Estimate $300 - 400.
A photocopy of a signed affidavit telling of the discovery of this particular imperf is included. Briefly, the sender, Paul A. Vinsant, was contacted on September 12 by someone at the bank who noticed the error. Mr. Vinsant said that his secretary had mailed the cover and, as it turned out, as many as 100 more, cutting or tearing the stamps from a partly-imperf roll of 500. The following day Mr. Vinsant purchased the imperf stamps from the company he worked for and sold them to local collector, Vernon A. Forrester.
