1862, 5¢ red brown, horizontal strip of 3, hidden defect affect right stamp, used with 3¢ Rose (65) and 10¢ Green (68), tied by grid cancels, also tied by red New York and Aachen transits on tissue-paper cover to Berlin, Prussia, postmarked "Portland Me. Dec. 16 1862" double-circle datestamp, cover with edge tears and nicks typical of this thin paper (reinforced with archival tape and card), otherwise Very Fine strips of the 5¢ Red Brown are exceedingly scarce.
