The battle in North West Ark was a poor thing. We only lost about 80 men in killed & 3 or 400 in wounded and prisoners. The enemy acknowledge a loss of 900 killed and 1400 wounded. McCullough was killed by sharp shooters. McIntosh was killed in a charge. If Van Dorn had fought them one hour longer he would have captured all the northern army.
