(Northern Central Railroad) No. Central R.R., blue 30mm cds ties 3¢ ultramarine (114) on purple cover to New York City; tiny bit of perf tip toning, F.-V.F.
Towle Nos. 195-E-1 var.    Estimate $200 - 300.

Envelope file noted "18 June" and carried on Route 1821 for Williamsport and transfer eastward via Washington and Baltimore for New York in circa 1869. Although Towle recorded four datestamps on this route, they were all between 25 to 26.5 mm diameter. This 30mm example is a previously unrecorded type.
