Although posted onto a mail car at Baltimore the letter must have been carried on Route 1902 Baltimore to Washington. Some Route Agents operated between Philadelphia and
Washington and in this instance he picked up the incorrect route agent marking instead of the "WASHINGTON RAIL ROAD" which should have been applied.
