1871 (Jan. 14) Paris to Troarn, folded Gazette des Absents N^o27 postmarked "Paris, D'Antin, 14 Janv. 71, 7^E" double circle, franked with 20c Empire Lauré tied by numeral "8" star cancel, backstamped "Caen à Paris, 29 Janv. 71" railway transit & "Troarn, 29 Janv. 71" arrival postmarks, Very Fine, carried by the Poste de Paris as this is from the 7^E collection, the last of the day, as such the mail was processed the following day.

The cover landed in German Occupied Territory and delivered almost 5 months later with arrival postmark of May 10.

Montaigne, 16 Janv. 71" double circle postmark, franked with 10c + 30c Empire Lauré tied by numeral "9" star cancel, no arrival postmark as usual, 10c light crease and cover with edge faults due to the delicate nature of the tissue paper, Fine, an attractive combination carried by the Poste de Paris.

1871 (Jan. 17) Paris to Warsaw, Poland, folded letter datelined "Quartier General de la 2eme Armée" franked with 20c Cérès and tied by light strike of red "Paris (SC), 17 Janv. 71" double circle postmark, struck with rare French "F. 42" accountancy marking and blue manuscript "6" Prussian tax marking, reverse with nice strike of "Republique Française, Ministère de L'Intérieur, Cabinet du Ministere" handstamp in red, Very Fine and choice, carried by the Poste de Paris.
