The Amargo post office was located on the Las Virgenes Ranch, seven miles east of Newbury Park.

Cal., May 23, 1882 (Santa Cruz), clear cds (SCR-780, R5) on 1874, 3¢ green entire to Bay City, Mich., accompanied by second cover with "Feb 25, 1882" strike of cds franked with 1¢ Banknote strip of three, all tied by target handstamps; reduction on former and later just into one stamp with some light cover tone, otherwise Very Fine, this being the only examples known of this postmark.Estimate $300 - 400.
