Liberia, 1960 Air France To Dakar Crash Cover, registered cover from Rotterdam, Holland to Monrovia, Liberia, with blue boxed "Courrier Accidente, Dakar, le 29 Aout 1960" crash cachet handstamp, reverse with "Monrovia, Liberia, Sp 7, 60" receiving cds; shows signs of crash including stamp missing, Very Fine and rare. Estimate $200 - 300.
On August 29, 1960, a Air France plane left Paris for Dakar and Abidjan with 15 bags of mail. During landing at Dakar the plane crashed into the sea due to bad weather. Two of the 15 mail bags were recovered.
