Wells, Fargo & Co., San Francisco, illegible blue oval transit date stamp on 1870, 3¢ entire to Cedarville, Cal. with pink allover Rosenstock & Co. - S.F. shaded ad and company frank at left, originating in San Francisco, entered the mails with "Susanville, Cal., Feb 14, 1872" cds and matching target cancelling indicia, Very Fine, an unusual express routing handing over to the Susanville post office for delivery in Cedarville.

Whiting & Co.'s Feather River Express, printed frank (WHI-002) on 3¢ red (U10) buff Nesbitt entire to Quincy, in conjunction with partial blue "Everts, Wilson & Co.'s Express, Marysville" circular handstamp canceling indicia, Very Fine, an extremely rare conjunctive usage.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

An unusual conjunctive usage because both company's served the same area, according to Nathan "Everts and Whiting were close friends and so Whiting made arrangements to turn over his express business on the Quincy to Marysville part of the route." -- this is most likely an example of that route sharing.

Whitney & Co., Forwarding Merchants and Dealers in Flour and Feed, boxed imprint at top (WHT-402) in conjunction with Wells, Fargo & Co. frank at left on l864, 3¢ pink entire to Carson City, Nevada, canceled by blue "Wells, Fargo & Co, San Francisco, Apr 3" oval date stamp, with original 1866 Whitney & Co. letterhead enclosure, Very Fine, one of two examples recorded in Thomas.
