Austrian Fieldpost, 1914-15, Prezemysl Siege Balloon Post Mail Collection, collection of 13 all different lightweight post cards sent from the famous siege of the Austrian army at Przemysl, Poland during WWI, each with "Fliegerpost Przemysl" handstamps, lengthy Dec. 2009 Airpost Journal article enclosed that details the balloon flights, F.-V.F., virtually impossible to duplicate.Estimate $500 - 750.
The Siege of Przemysl was the longest siege of the First World War, and a crushing defeat for Austria-Hungary against the Russian attackers. Przemysl was a fortress town on the River San and a Galician stronghold.
