Italian Area, Italian Disinfected Mail Collection, 1700s-1800s, large collection of approximately 117 covers plus documents related to disinfection, includes mounted pages, various documents include 1700s shipment permits, 1759 burial permit sanitary control, 1768 used public health form, 1802 health certificate for export, 1656 public notice banning entry of transit of persons or goods from Perugia with penalty of death, disinfection of mail in Roman States, Tuscany, Romagna, Modena Duchy, markings including Venetian Ship marks, Public Dispatch Service, Constantinople (double disinfection with handstamp and wax seal), disinfection includes handstamps, wax seals, slits and showing stains and discoloration due to treatment, few AQ lettersheets showing seal types, etc., includes two balance volumes of the Meyer Disinfected Mail collection plus a copy of his book on the subject, also includes AISP "Bolli e Documenti di Sanita" book, a wonderful study collection of this area worthy developing into an award winning exhibit.

Italian Area, Italian States Collection, 1851-68, predominately used housed in album pages; with Modena with a nice range of issues including better newspapers, Parma with complete 1852-54 issues, 1857-59 issues complete (40c signed) and 1858 issues with 5c (signed) and 40c red and brown red varieties (40c red signed), Romagna including a couple used values, Roman States with 1852 high values needing to be checked, Tuscany lacking a couple issues with 1852 60c and a 1860 80c used, Two Sicilies approaching completion highlighted by a 1860 Cross of Savoy ½t blue (Sc. 9, cat $3,250); with some better items needing to be checked, worth careful inspection.
