Hitchcock P.M." postmaster free frank on 1844 folded letter to Altoona Ill., interesting content "The Cherokees are in a deplorable condition. I think they have been growing worse and worse ever since the massacre of 39. I think there is innocent blood resting on the nation which has not been washed away and is now calling down the judgement of God.", Very Fine.
