THIS WAS THE LAST EASTBOUND VOYAGE FROM NEW YORK BEFORE RETALIATORY RATES BEGAN.
The 10¢ postage paid the over-300 miles rate from New Orleans La. to port of departure. The British packet postage of 24¢ was not prepaid and the letter was marked 1 shilling (24¢) due at Liverpool.
