Argentina, Collection, 1858-1938, parallel mint and used collection neatly arranged in stockbook, assembled over 35 years and contains approximately 2,000 stamps, arranged as per S.G. catalog (part 20) and allows for all perforation and watermark varieties including Officials and Airmail issues, with Scott equivalent numbers marked on dividing sheets; commencing with Confederation issues including strips of 9 followed by a nice showing of 28 "Escuditos" with and without accent, followed by 1864-72 Rivadavias with some 54 stamps identifying all 8 printings (see Kneitschel), thereafter a good degree of specialized completion through to 1938 including complete 1910 set both mint and used, 1892 Rivadavias, the 1899 Seated Liberty and the 1916-20 San Martin issues all assembled to fully cover watermarks and all perforation varieties; condition varies with only just a little foxing after 1911 as the collection was put together with a view to completeness, with major missing items include the 15c Rivadavia imperf (Sc. 10), 50p Revolution (Sc. 392) and also some Zeppelin green overprints, accompanied with S.G. catalog cuts throughout and a detailed Scott valuation totaling to $18,742 not taking into account much of the specialized perf & watermark varieties not listed by Scott, a truly wonderful extensively assembled collection with much material emanating from Moorhouse auctions.Estimate $3,000 - 4,000.
