1908-09 U.S. Automatic Vending Machine Co. Ticket Coupon Pockets, 5 different coupon pockets, each bearing two 1¢ Franklin and one 2¢ Washington issues, Very Fine and rare.Scott No. 331-332 Estimate $300 - 400.
The U.S. Vending Machine Co. made a ticket selling machine for the N.Y. subway, but the deal fell through. In order to use of the machines, they made advertising pouches and enclosed stamps, which were sold for face value. The pouches where used as coupons for merchandise in sums of 5¢ to $5. The machines were used at post offices in N.Y. and Washington.

A recent sale (11/19/2013) of the 4¢ Imperf. graded PSE 100, which showed large margins but no portions of adjoining stamps was sold for $350 + 15% buyer's premium. This immense jumbo would certainly grade 100J.
