Dec 16, seven test strikes of mechanical duplex with four large steel rings on front and two on back of incoming John McAdams cover bearing 3¢ rose (65) tied by framed "Paid" and red "Boston Mass Apr 18" cds, docketed "James McAdams - 62" at left; reduced at left from opening, F.-V.F., ex-Richard B. Graham.
Estimate    $750 - 1,000.

John McAdams tested his mechanical New York duplex on some of his personal incoming mail. Only a few test covers are known along with some New York post office usages.
