Panama, 1903, Registration, 10c on 20c blue with Second Panama Registry Overprint, blue "3063" handstamp, used with 20c violet with Third Panama Overprint and 10c yellow with Fourth Panama Overprint, tied by "Panama, 21 Mar 1904" duplex on cover to Cartagena; blue Mar. 28th arrival backstamp; small edge faults, extra gum around F11, prepaid for the triple rate (30-45 grams)., Fine.

THIS IS THE EARLIEST RECORDED USE OF THE PANAMA F10 REGISTRATION STAMP.

Early in March, a new "Panama" handstamp was prepared to overprint the registration stamps creating Scott F10 and F11. Two different handstamps were used to surcharge the stamps, the same as the one used on F8 and F9, and then a later one measuring 4.0x4.0mm.

ONE OF ONLY THREE RECORDED EXAMPLES OF THIS PANAMA 1904 PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION STAMP.

By approximately July 24th, the supply of overprinted Colombian registration stamps was exhausted in Panama. For two weeks until the new registration stamps arrived from New York, registered covers were franked with regular postage stamps overprinted with a large red "R" with the registry number stamped below it.

THE EARLIEST RECORDED USE OF THE NEW PANAMA F27 REGISTRATION LABEL.

Early in August 1904, the supply of Panama registration and A.R. stamps arrived from the American Bank Note Company in New York and were immediately used in Panama and shortly thereafter in other post offices.
