Ter., July 8th 69, manuscript postmark on cover to Fernando de Taos, N.M., franked with manuscript canceled 1868, 3¢ rose, F. grill, single + vertical strip of five on reverse in paying the 15¢ registry fee; cover reduced at right into single and bottom stamp in strip, F.-V.F., the unique territorial postmark from St. Maryes, illustrated in Jarrett's Colorado book.

Lot 802    

Summit Colo., 8 July 1876, manuscript postmark at left edge of 1870, 3¢ green entire to Zanesville, O., with Little Annie Mining Co. corner card; wax seal stain at center, otherwise Very Fine.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

Four examples of this territorial postmark are recorded. All from the same correspondence and all show the wax seal stain.

Sunshine, Colorado., 10-18-75, fancy arched postmark in violet on cover to Marlborough, N.H., franked with manuscript canceled 1873, 3¢ green; couple small cover tears at right, still Very Fine, this is one of two recorded examples of this unique territorial postmark.
