Adams Express to Fort Vancouver, 1854 folded letter from San Francisco, addressed to Dugald Mactavish, Hudson Bay Company at Fort Vancouver, Columbia River, detailing the default by a supposedly outstanding businessman on a loan, which apparently caused something of a sensation; the letter is handstamped with blue double circle Adams & Co., San Francisco, endorsed "pr. Adams & Co's Express" and manuscript "Private"; said to be the only Adams cover known to Fort Vancouver, fresh and Very Fine. Estimate $200 - 300.
