Baltimore used no consistent pattern of writing freight money fee over inland fee or vice verse. Pencil notation in upper right shows "56¼" over "37½." This was probably written on letter when it was taken to the window and prepaid. Later, the red pen rate markings were added in accordance with the pencil notation.
