Official Seal, 1913, blue, hyphen-hole 6½ (right) x perf 12 (other 3 sides). Four seals, top right type 4A, used to repair registered 2¢ entire bearing 3¢ Wash. and 10¢ orange yellow #400 to Chile, four Chilean registry labels (two on back) used as "official seals" to reclose or repair cover, unclaimed and returned to sender, U.S. seals added on return, Very Fine and attractive use.

Post Office Seal, 1913, blue, hyphen-hole 6½ (left) x perf 12 (other 3 sides). Type 4B, used with three OX15 seals to reclosed cover to New York City with 2¢ carmine (411) tied by "Booklyn N.Y. Mar 27 1914" machine cancel, magenta "Returned to Sender" boxed hs, seals tied by New York duplexes and split upon opening, Very Fine, the only recorded example of the type 4B seal (on or off cover); with 2004 P.F. certificate.

Official Seal, 1913, blue, hyphen-hole 6½ x perf 12. Pair precancelled with "Newark N.J." straightline, used to reclose right side of cover bearing 2¢ carmine tied by "Wall Street Sta. N.Y. Feb 9 1914" machine cancel to Newark, N.J., purple "Deficiency in Address supplied by Post Office", Very Fine and scarce.

Official Seal, 1916, black on pink. Group comprising mint pane of 20 and seven covers including 1917 special delivery use and with postage dues, 1919 incoming cover from Switzerland to Pa., 1917 incoming cover from France to West Newton Mass., and the largest recorded franking of seven seals used to repair a badly damaged Chicago Ill. cover; a Very Fine and interesting group.

Official Seal, 1916, black on pink. Used to reclose 1918 2¢ entire with Special Delivery 10¢ green (E7) and 1¢ Franklin, addressed to August Dietz, purple "Received Unsealed" straightline handstamp, the ½¢ documentary "war tax" stamp is a fantasy as the 1¢ paid the tax, entire faulty, Fine, an unusual use.

Official Seal, 1916, black on pink, imperf horizontally. Pane of 20, left selvage, o.g., hinge reinforcing, few skips, one with thin spot, otherwise Very Fine, one of only three recorded panes.

Balance of 1917 gray black on white Issue. Group of stamps and 6 covers including used block of 6 with Providence precancel, perf varieties including blocks with extra perfs and small hole/large holes, imperf pairs, imperf block of 12 and block of 16 imperf horizontally, covers include 1920 incoming registered from Indo-China and another censored from China, extra perf single on cover (confirms not all errors were printers waste), five miss-perfed seals repair cover, etc., Very Fine, a wonderful group handpicked for exhibition.

Official Seal, 1917, gray black. Used to reclose cover bearing 5¢ Washington tied by "U.S. Postal Agency Shanghai Mar 17 1917" duplex to Germany, at time of sending normal mail route via Russia closed and sent via U.S., by time of arrival mail route to Germany was closed and purple "Mail service suspended to country addressed" two-line handstamp, opened by DLO for address and returned to Shanghai, Very Fine, the only recorded use of 1917 seals on mail from U.S. Postal Agency at Shanghai.
