Denmark, 1852 Waterloo, Canada to Segeberg, Holstein. Origin cds and manuscript "3/-" sterling on folded letter sheet, rated "1/2" Canada to G.B. & re-rated "1/6" for the 4d added as the British share via Ostende, blue manuscript "18¾" sgr crossed out and rated in red crayon "25" Hamburg schillinge, "Schleswig" was scratched out and replaced with "Deutschland" even though the Ducy of Holstein was under Danish control, it was part of the GPU until February 1854, Very Fine, the earliest recorded letter from Canada to Denmark; with 2006 P.E.S. certificate.

All tied by "181" numeral ring cancels on 1858 folded letter from Copenhagen to Marseilles, France, "Sjæll Post Sped Bureau, 14/9, 1858" cds and reverse with numerous transit and "Marseille, 18 Sept, 58" receiving cds; cover edge wear and central vertical file fold ending in tear at bottom and affecting left 16sk, F.-V.F., a very rare quadruple rate usage to France; with 2004 L. Nielsen certificate. Scott No. 3+5+6.
