British East Africa, 1896, 1r gray With Overprint Varieties on Cover. Stamp shows the three varieties in the overprint: inverted "s", dropped "h" of British, and broken top of A in Africa; squared circle "Mombasa / A / JU 6 /96" ties stamp to cover, receiver with same date on reverse; certificate states the triple overprint variety occurs in position 60 in the setting of 120 subjects, only on late printings; scarce and attractive; with 2010 Sismondo certificate. SG No. 59 var.

Exceptional strike of crown circle handstamp on 1856 folded tissue paper letter to Buenos Ayres, franked with Spain 1855, 2r reddish violet, vertical pair tied by oval grid handstamps, blue "Cadiz, 11 May, 56" origin cds, reverse with "Teneriffe, Au 16, 1856" British transit and red Santa Cruz cds's, Very Fine and choice, a rare usage via the Canary Islands.

Neat stampless folded letter receiving blue double circle Mayaguez, P.R. cds and "Via de Inglaterra" manuscript routing endorsement, sent unpaid to Genova, Italy, with 1Lira + 70c+30c postage dues tied by Genova cds's, with London transit & Genova receiver on reverse; scarce usage from Puerto Rico (40c due is damaged), a Very Fine usage; signed Sismondo, with 1984 P.F. & 2005 Sismondo certificates.
