Wells, Fargo & Co/Taylorsville, Cal. Bold blue oval handstamp on 1864, 3¢ pink franked entire to Quincy, Cal. from the J.D. Goodwin correspondence, Very Fine and choice, quite certainly one of the finest examples of this Taylorsville marking.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

Virtually all of the few existing Wells, Fargo & Co. Taylorsville cancels are found on this correspondence to attorney J.D. Goodwin and nearly all of those are on covers which have been torn open at right, and are therefore ragged and reduced. This intact example is a true condition rarity and the strike also being exceptional in its completeness and clarity.

Black oval handstamp (Leutzinger type 3-1 but even town unlisted) on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire entire with company frank (Haller type E) to San Francisco, Cal., small corner repair at top right, Very Fine, This is one of the rarest Wells Fargo Towns, only existed for 1 year as a Post Office with only 2 Wells Fargo covers known and 1 postal making cover. Also only 2 towns had the county in there mark the other is also rare but much later., ex-Haas, Vogel.
