Cumming's City Post, 1844, 2¢ black on yellow. Margins large to slightly into frameline at left, canceled by red boxed "Free" handstamp on locally addressed folded letter with second strike of handstamp alongside, with matching red "City Despatch Post P.O., Mar. 22, 4 O'Clock" cds; stamp with small faults which has been lifted and placed back on cover, cover lightly cleaned, Very Fine appearance, this being one of two covers showing the conjunctive use of the Cumming's City Post stamp with the City Despatch Post after Cummings and Wright took over the City Despatch from Abraham Mead in 1847; with 2001 P.F. certificate.

Dupuy & Schenck, 1846-48 (1¢) black. Ample to large margins, canceled by manuscript check mark on folded letter sheet to St. Louis, Mo., red "New - York, 10cts, Sep 7" integral rate cds, Very Fine and attractive, a scarce on cover usage.

East River Post Office, 1852-54 (1¢) black on green. Cut to shape, uncancelled on small locally addressed cover with red "East River, Post Office, 23 Avenue D" 3 line handstamp; stamp has been lifted and placed back with water staining around, with Chapman handstamp on front, Fine, a very rare on cover usage, illustrated in Patton, ex Chapman, Caspary, Middendorf, Golden.

Floyd's Penny Post, 1860 (1¢) blue. Large oversized margins, tied by sharp strike of "Floyd's, Penny Post, Chicago" oval handstamp on cover to Grafton, Mass., in combination with 1857, 3¢ dull red tied by light blue grid handstamp, matching "Chicago Ills., Mar. 25" cds alongside, cover lightly cleaned, Extremely Fine and choice, a wonderful and very rare combination.

Friend's Boarding School, 1877 (1¢) black. Type I, large margins all around, in combination with 1883, 2¢ red brown on 1884 Friends' Boarding School corner card cover addressed by the superintendent Barclay W. Stratton to Joseph C. Stratton in Winona O., both tied by "Barnesville O., Jan. 24" cds and quartered cork cancel, receiving backstamp, Very Fine and choice, a very rare tied combination usage of the Friend's Boarding School stamp used on the last year of the sale and use of the stamps.

Glen Haven Daily Mail, 1854-58, 1¢ black on dark green. Margins clear to just slightly in, affixed to small ladies cover to Varna, N.Y., in combination with 1851, 3¢ dull red, type II tied by neat "Homer, N.Y., Feb 13" cds, Extremely Fine, one of finest examples of the Glen Haven Daily Mail Black on Dark Green stamp on cover mail from Homer, N.Y., an extremely rare usage with only six on cover usages known, illustrated in Patton, Scott cat. $6,250 for uncanceled on cover with #26; with 1995 P.F. certificate.

Ample to large margins, light unnoticeable crease, in combination with 1857, 3¢ dull red on fresh cover to Cortlandville, N.Y., both tied by "Tully, N.Y. Feb 6" cds, Very Fine, an extremely rare usage of a Glen Haven local cover posted at Tully, N.Y. as virtually all covers are known to be sent through either the post offices at Homer or Scott.
