Michaelis at Ordinance Department, Watertown Arsenal, Boston, Mass. regarding sending her husband to observe "experiments by Krupp" (presumably the German armaments manufacturer); interesting and perhaps historic; cover with some aging and small tear at upper right; letter is pristine, an F.-V.F. cover.

Samuel Osgood was an American merchant and statesman from Andover, Massachusetts. He served in the Massachusetts and New York state legislatures, represented Massachusetts in the Continental Congress and was the first Postmaster General under the United States Constitution.
