(Key West). Dateline on 1832 folded letter to Maj. Genl. Jessup in Washington D.C., entered the mails with bold "Pensa. F., Oct 5" cds with matching straight line "Free" and "Ship" handstamps (types VIac); light cover tone spots and non-contemporary colored pencil date at lower left, F.-V.F., one of two recorded territorial examples of the "Ship" handstamp.

Red oval date stamp (type III) on cover to West Tisbury, Mass., matching straight line "Paid" and "40" rate handstamps for letter weighing between 1½-2 oz., 1851 pencil docketing at left, F.-V.F., this is the only recorded example of the "40" rate handstamp being used in Key West, ex McNeal; signed Ashbrook.
