Windsor Locks, Ct./Oct. 22. Full strike of first type fancy illustrated Steamboat in Lock postmark in red, on 1833 folded letter to New Bedford, Mass., manuscript "12½" rate, letter with interesting content…we have a new Post Office lately established within a few rods of my door by the name (Windsor Locks Post Office), Very Fine, a lovely early example of this scarce marking.

First type fancy illustrated Steamboat in Lock postmark, a beautiful detailed strike in red with printed "Apr." and manuscript "22" date and "18?" rate on 1841 folded letter to Bath N.H., light file folds do not affect marking, small light tone spot at top left, an Extremely Fine strike.

(Woodstock, Ct.) Missent to Woodstock. Ct./Forwd. Oct. 30. Clear full strike of red boxed auxiliary handstamp on incoming 1828 folded letter, red "Boston, Ms., Oct 27" cds and straight line "Paid" handstamp with manuscript "10" rate, Extremely Fine.

Connecticut Fancy Postmarks, 1804-50's. 16 covers; including 2 blue fancy Hampton boxed octagon date stamps showing different Paid 3 handstamps (octagon, circle), similar Haddam postmark in red and West Hartford in black, ovals including red 1819 Middletown rimless, red 1833 Madison rimless, red 1816 Stamford with fancy "Free", red 1849 Woodstock irregular with "Free" and red 1841 Woodbury, 1853 Kensington tombstone with matching "Paid 3", 1850's blue Harwinton framed arc, 1828 Windham arc, 1830 Lyme rimless in red, 1847 red Tolland "baker's cap", 1804 N. London small ornamental cds and a 1852 New Haven usage with fancy "Ship" in scroll handstamp, F.-V.F. or better.
