Little Rock, Ark./1830/Sept. 9. Clear strike of fancy shield and box cancel with manuscript "Paid 18¾" rate on cover front only to St. Louis Mo., docketed at right, a Very Fine strike, the unique example of the Little Rock Arkansas shield in box fancy cancel. Estimate $1,000 - 1,500.
The shield in box cancel should not be confused with the shield in semi-circle cancel, which is more common. The cancel offered here is believed to have been used only during September 1830. ASCC value $5,000.
