Straight line postmark (BPM 151) and 7 MA Franklin mark on 1793 folded letter from London to Portsmouth, N.H., manuscript "Sh 24" rate (double 10¢ postage + 4¢ ship fee), "per Charlottte, Capt Mackay" ship endorsement, letter from John Fabyan Parrott regarding one of the recent battles of the French Revoluntary War…All communications of every kind is stopt between this country and France…There was a most bloody battle fought between the Austrians and French which commenced on the 15th of March & lasted till the evening of the 18th but it was not decisive for after losing 6,000 men each dead on the field both armies retained their former positions., Very Fine.
