Flor., letter regarding land granted by the Spanish Government, F.-V.F., the earliest of only two postmarks recorded, illustrated in FSPH, ex Meroni.

Woodstock Mills, E. Flora, April 11. Blue fancy sawtooth cds and manuscript "10" crossed & rerated "5" on 1846 folded letter to Tallahassee, Fl., addressed to "His Excellency Wm. D. Moseley" with military election results in Frick's; light toning along vertical file fold, Extremely Fine, an exceptional clear strike of this postmark.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

William Dunn Moseley (February 1, 1795 ? January 4, 1863) was an American politician. A Democrat and North Carolina native, Moseley became the first Governor of the state of Florida, serving from 1845 until 1849 and leading the establishment of the state government.
