Prepaid the 9 cent rate to France of August 1874 using a 1873, 3¢ green + 6¢ brown rose tied by N.Y.F.M. cancel. Routed from Plymouth via Cherbourg on March 29th, then Paris and Lyon with arrival at Pont d?Ain of March 30th on reverse. Prepaid the Closed Mail via England rate of 10 cents with 1873, 2¢ brown, two singles + 3¢ green, pair. Stamps cancelled by the Weiss type GE-EN2/G1 obliterator. At the New York Foreign Mail office the "NEW YORK PAID ALL VIA ENG. & OSTD. / MAR / 27" was applied. The closed bag was routed to Basel arriving April 8th for sorting and delivered at Luzern on the same day; cover with sealed cover tear at bottom right and light tone spots, F.-V.F.; with 2003 P.F. certificate.Estimate $400 - 600.

Prepaid the 6 cent treaty rate to Britain of January 1870 using 1873, 3¢ green, horizontal pair cancelled by the New York Foreign Mail obliterator Weiss type GE-EN2/G1. The canceller Weiss type GE-EN2/G1 is recorded by him as in use March 30th - 3rd May 1875. These covers, 2 of 18 recorded with this stamp, extends usage back by 3 days.
