Addressed to Galway, Ireland and prepaid both the 6 cents treaty rate plus 8 cents registration using the 1864, 3¢ Nesbitt entire uprated with 1869, 2¢ brown + 1870, 3¢ green, pair and single. Letter landed at Londonderry with reverse bearing a Galway arrival stamp for August 23rd 1870 on reverse. Prepaid the 15 cent NGU closed mail rate of January 1868 using 1869, 2¢ brown + 3¢ ultramarine + 10¢ yellowish orange slightly overlapping. The bag was dropped off at Southampton and routed via Ostend and sorted on May 3rd at the Verviers, Belgium exchange office for onward routing by rail 200 miles N.E. to Quakenbruck.
