Mexico 1884-1885 Medallion Issue Exhibition Collection. Including Official issues, very complete collection of stamps and covers on 70 exhibit pages. All denominations represented including 5p and 10p blue high values (used), many large blocks, a lot of unused stamps, every denomination with a section of selected difficult and beautiful cancels. Several combination frankings with the 1874 and 1878 issues, registered mail, imperforate stamps (including one pair on cover), specimens, proofs, nice section on the elusive early district overprints (Chiapas, Etzatlan, Saltillo, Tehuantepec, Maravatio, Soyaniquilpam), rare on cover bisects, double printings, cancelled block of 40 of the 2p (remainder cancel, but nevertheless rare and magnificent), many covers with very scarce cancels and with values up the 1p, the first 2 pages (complete issues mostly mint) have a Scott value of $1,350; condition above the norm throughout, well worth careful examination (no photo).

Mexico Numeral Issue Exhibition Collection, 1886-95. More than 500 mostly all different stamps and 50+ selected covers (3 postcards to foreign destinations and 2-3 fronts included), neatly mounted on 72 exhibition pages and includes almost all stamps in the Scott catalogue (except for the $5 and $10 peso denominations and very few others), includes the rare perfs 6 and combined 6 x 12, and 5 1/2 x 11, as well as the rare Blue lines paper issue of 1887, section has very rare blocks of 4 also, this issue is known for off-centered stamps, many of the stamps chosen for nice centering (which in this issue often commands a premium of 150-200%), starting with unused by year of issue and then it has a collection of cancels and covers, most of the 36 blocks are unused in great condition with some stamps n.h., including a magnificent block of 40 of Scott #234 ($1,600 as hinged), postal stationery includes several rare 3c solo usages for official usage, registered mail and 5 registered judiciary fronts with rare rates, unusual destinations such as Stockholm, Signapore and Paraguay, several of the rare 20c lilac (Scott # 182 and #220 A) used an unused (each is $110-190); owner?s catalogue of just the stamps is close to $9,000 (without counting the premiums for NH, blocks or great centering), a perfect way to start a highly specialized collection of this beautiful issue (no photo).

An incredible stock of over 240 stamps with most issues present including many of the key items, all perfs from all 3 categories (unwatermarked, ruled lines paper and watermarked) are represented, marked retail is over $8400 and an accompanying card from stamp on empty sheets for another $500, none of the peso values but both 236A and 240A are here, F.-V.F.
