Uganda 1898 Cover to London. Registered letter envelope front, originating with typeset 1a, 2a, 3a, 4a & 8a values (#62-66), all bearing manuscript town postmarks "Wadelai, 12/9/98", with manuscript endorsement "Per First Steamer", thereafter in transit through Mombassa where 3 8a olive gray adhesives (#74) received tying cds's; then to London; front with some edge wear, still a truly remarkable combination franking worthy of exhibition status, Fine.

Top stamp in a vertical strip of 3, with middle and bottom stamp different surcharge types (S.G. types 4, 3, 5), o.g., top stamp lightly hinged, others never hinged, bold color, fresh and Very Fine, a rare combination surcharge multiple; with 2002 D.Brandon certificate.

Unusual block from left side of sheet, bright color, with margins at left & top, striking visual effect, catalog value is for 30 hinged stamps (allowing for some at right which have blunt perfs), a few minor separations, block of 36, o.g., never hinged, Very Fine. SG No. 1 £142 as hinged ($223) (no photo).
