Harrison's Susanville & Goose Lake Express Company, Paid. Red ribbon printed frank on 1870 3¢ green entire to Marysville, Cal., put into the Post Office at Adinville with there September 18, 1872 manuscript cancel (while in Modoc county today then in Siskiyou County), Extremely Fine, the only cover known and one of the highlights of the collection.Estimate $4,000 - 6,000.
This express ran from Susanville to the Goose Lake region in Modoc County. It was one of the mystery covers from the 1940 Konwiser list as no one alive had ever seen one as it rested in the fabulous Lichtenstein collection.
