Bell, San Francisco" imprint on cover to New York, franked with 1857 10¢ green, type II tied by San Francisco cds, cover with two small nicks at top, either of which affect design or adhesive, Very Fine and rare, ex-Knapp; with 2004 P.F. certificate.

Overland Mail, From San Francisco via Los Angeles, illustrated Six Horse Stagecoach design with Hutching & Rosenfield imprint below, on cover to Hamburg, N.Y., red "Strawberry Valley, Cala., June 17" cds and franked with 1861, 10¢ green canceled by grid which is a substitution for original franking; small sealed cover tears at top and backflap replaced, Very Fine appearance.

Burnett in Sacramento, with matching "Pacific Express Co., Marysville" oval and boxed "Paid" handstamp used as a frank; stamp with minor edge flaws at top, otherwise Very Fine, a rare usage of a company handstamp used as a frank.

March 8, 1856 edition of the El Nicaraguense newspaper, paper with fascinating bylines including Nicaragua Isthmus Express Between Virgin Bay and San Juan del Sur, The Army of Nicaragua, Camp Life in Nicaragua, etc.; paper with some splitting along folds, otherwise Very Fine, very rare.
