Probably carried per the French steamer "Washington", departing Vera Cruz (en route to Cuba as an intermediate stop), arriving St. Nazaire, France 10-Aug. Franking paid the correct 1 shilling per half ounce letter rate for up to an ounce per French Packet from St. Nazaire.
