Yreka, Cal., Nov 30, 1857 (Siskiyou). Cds (Williams SIS-4100) on fresh 10¢ Nesbitt entire to East Chester, N.Y., with matching Running Bison handstamp alongside, Very Fine and choice, a beautiful example this fancy handstamp, ex Meroni; with 2001 P.F. certificate.

California Covers, 1852-1904. 5 covers; ca. 1852 manuscript Downieville stampless, 1865 Pilot Hill cds on cover to Lt Raymond on Alcatraz Island, 1880's Sacramento City cds with star in circle cancels, 1885 West End on mourning cover with EIE fancy canceled 1883, 2¢ red brown (possibly a replacement) and 1904 Ocean Park duplex postmark on multicolored hand painted Japanese couple design; some small faults, F.-V.F.

Small lot of 11 covers including 6¢ Nesbitt entire with Stmr Sierra Nevada Via Nicaragua Advance of the Mails oval, manuscript Placerville with matching "Paid 40", 1861 3¢ of California Loyal States Patriotic, Hunter Express shield marking on Tandler cover (probably a forgery), Todd double oval on rebacked front, 10¢ 1857 tied by Red Bluff cds on cover with manuscript endorsement "Overland via Los Angeles", mixed condition, please inspect (no photo).
